A manuscript by António Vieira, S.J. | Presentation

Next 30 May, at 5:30 pm CEST (4:30 pm GMT), the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and the Pontifical Gregorian University will present the valorisation of a fundamental witness of António Vieira, S.J. The research team is composed of Ana T. Valdez, Arnaldo do Espírito Santo, Martín M. Morales S.J., Irene Pedretti, Giulia Venezia and Maria Stella Maggio.

Participating in connection from Rome will be Fr. Nuno da Silva Gonçalves S.J., Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University, Fr. Martín M. Morales S.J., Director of the Historical Archives of the Pontifical Gregorian University, Dr. Irene Pedretti, conservator and catalogue manager, and Giulia Venezia, restorer.

António Vieira, S.J. (1608 - 1697), was a man of multiple facets. He was a Jesuit by training, a diplomat at the service of the new Dynasty of Braganza, a prolific author, and one of the most accomplished and respected exegetes of his time.
