A TRINITARIAN VISION FOR SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY: CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BERNARD LONERGAN SJ AND ROBERT DORAN SJ

Prof. Neil Ormerod is Australian theologian and an authority in Lonergan studies. For some time he has been publishing on the manner in which Robert M. Doran has developed the systematic theology of Lonergan, especially a notion of the “four-point hypothesis” by which humans enjoy “a created participation in the four Trinitarian Relations” In this talk, he relates this theology to the notion of “Divinisation” that is important for theologians of the Orthodox church. In discussing these links, Prof. Ormerod enters into conversation with Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, who, in addition to having been the Primate of the Anglican Commion, is an expert on Orthodox theology. This conference is co-sponsored by the Gregorian Lonergan Project and the Licentiate in Comparative Christian Traditions and Ecumenical Studies.
