AVVENTO CON ARTE

Il racconto del Natale nell'arte cristiana antica e medievale

The initiative "Advent with Art" aims to concretize the inseparable relationship between Art and Faith, through which "the Church calls art to accompany its mission, not only for aesthetic reasons, but to obey the 'logic' of revelation and incarnation itself" (Saint John Paul II). The narrative of Christmas in this first edition will unfold through images of ancient and medieval sacred art. Each session will be introduced by liturgical chants and Christian tradition, along with a meditation on Advent. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the Gregorian Choir of the Pontifical French Seminary and the Musical Chapel of the National Church of the Spaniards in Rome. The meditations will be led by students from the three cycles of specialization in Cultural Heritage of the Church.
