Cammino Sinodale della Chiesa in Amazzonia

In 2024 we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Red Eclesial Pan- Amazónica (REPAM). During this intense period of consolidation of the Red, steps were taken towards several other significant processes for the Amazon territory and its importance for all humanity (DAp, 475):

  • In 2015, Pope Francis emphasised the theme of Amazonia in his Encyclical Laudato Si’
  • In 2019, the Synod on Amazonia was celebrated in Rome
  • In 2020, the Ecclesial Conference on Amazonia (CEAMA) was founded.

From these processes, the Red de Educación Intercultural Bilingüe (REIBA) and the Programa Universitario Amazónico (PUAM) were formed.

In relation to this path, Ecclesial Networks for Integral Ecology are being founded and consolidated in different territorial contexts around the world, forming the Alliance of Ecclesial Networks.

The event on the Synodal Paths of the Church in Amazonia, which will take place at the Pontifical Gregorian University, next 7 June, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., is a dialogue meeting that is part of the numerous meetings that the Presidencies of REPAM and CEAMA will have with the Roman Dicasteries and with Pope Francis.
