With Carlo Ginzburg in the workshop of the "Provincials," the Historical Archives inaugurates a series of events related, directly or indirectly, to its holdings: in this case, the pretext is offered by the unpublished and anonymous translation of some of Blaise Pascal's Provincial Letters preserved in the Historical Archive of Pontifical Gregorian University. In the first part of the discussion Carlo Ginzburg, in dialogue with professors Girolamo Imbruglia and Martín M. Morales SJ, will illustrate the research path that led him to confront casuistry. In the second part, however, a series of problems related to the APUG 1434 manuscript and other materials preserved in the archives will be addressed in seminar format. The aim is to reflect on the connection between general questions and particular issues from individual cases with the help of leading scholars.
