Democrazia per il bene comune.

What world do we want to build?

The world has yet to find a new "order" after the end of the Cold War. Indeed, there is talk of "world disorder," especially in light of the tragic war in Ukraine, which erupted just as the world was starting to recover from the Sars-Cov2 pandemic.

This conference intends to think about the present and future, and to propose a viewpoint that does not have to end with today. The Pontifical Gregorian University aspires to be a permanent point of reference on these very present issues, with a global gaze turned to the future and a constant awareness of the past.

We are convinced that thought is in a deep crisis, and that it is therefore essential to strengthen ideas in order to regenerate today's broken confidence in the future, especially among younger generations.

How should we approach the great problems of the future? While authoritarian regimes are becoming more prevalent, the West appears to be experiencing an identity problem. As a result, we must consider the present state of liberal democracy. A brand new universe is about to emerge. There are numerous opinions. Do we want to suffer through history or figure out a solution to make the world a better place?
