"The Cross: a thorny matter in Islamic-Christian dialogue. On the Muslim side the crucifixion of Jesus is denied; on the Christian side this has contributed to undermining trust in Muslims. [...] To dialogue is not to reconcile the irreconcilable, but to open up to the truth by getting to know each other better and better. And trusting to discover perhaps, one day, each other, that so many misunderstandings were due to distant languages, not necessarily to opposed realities."
