L'asilo resiste ancora?

Europasilo's national network is organizing the "L'Asilo Resiste" National Conference in Rome, on March 22nd and 23rd, 2024, with the collaboration of Faculty of Social Sciences at the Pontifical Gregorian University, located at 4 Piazza della Pilotta.

The conference aims to serve as a gathering for all entities committed to quality reception to engage in a collective reflection on the current situation and the future prospects of the asylum and reception system, particularly in this exceptionally delicate period.

Among the opening presentations (some are still being finalized) will be one by Virginia Costa, Director of the Central Service.

Following the opening session, there will be five working groups, which constitute the core of the event, structured to facilitate maximum active participation in a horizontal approach.

The working groups are as follows:

Table 1. RIGHTS: How can we ensure the right to asylum for all migrant citizens?

Table 2. HEALTHCARE PROTECTION: Access to health services is not universal: How can we effect change?

Table 3. SUPPORT STRATEGIES: Building new strategies to defend rights: Shall we design together?

Table 4. POSSIBLE INCLUSION: The reception system is constantly under attack: Shall we resist or redefine?

Table 5. COMMUNICATION: Can we improve the communication of migrations: What role do migrants play?

Saturday morning, March 23rd, will continue with group work, presentation of findings, and a general discussion.
