Lectio Ghislain Lafont

The passing of Ghislain Lafont, a well-known Benedictine theologian and monk, in May 2021, left a void that the initiative of three Roman Athenaeums (Gregorian, Lumsa and S. Anselmo) immediately sought to mitigate and make, so to speak, bearable. Thus, the Lectio Ghislain Lafont (=LGL), that is, a day of "active remembrance" on the thought and work of the Benedictine theologian, was established at the initiative of the three Athenaeums.

The day always includes two moments: a lecture by a "distinguished" scholar and a seminar work done by young doctoral students. Both moments are unified by reference to a text written by Lafont.
