Ecumenism, International Relations, and Peacebuilding: The search for Christian Unity in an unstable world

In a world that is increasingly violent and divided, the work of peacemaking has never been more important. Within such a context, the search for Christian unity becomes more urgent than ever.  Reverend Dr. James D. Hawkey a prominent theologian and ecumenist from Cambridge University, will speak to this topic from the perspective of the Anglican Church. His respondent, H.E. Mons. Paul R. Galagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See, will represent a Catholic perspective, noting how the Anglican Church and the Catholic Church already cooperate on a variety of international affairs. This event is the first public event organized by the new Licentiate being offered within the Faculty of Theology of the Gregorian University: "Comparative Theology of Christian Traditions and Ecumenical Studies."
