Memoria di papa Damaso Patrono dell'Archeologia Cristiana

The commemoration of the memory of Pope Damasus (366-384), proclaimed patron of Christian Archaeology by Pope Pius XI in the year 1926, is intended to be an opportunity to renew interest in the study of monuments of Christian Antiquity and to offer, to a wide public, the opportunity to learn about the figure of the Pontiff, linked to the transformations of the city of Rome in terms of urban planning and Christian space and, above all, for the attention paid to the cult of the martyrs.

Each year, the Lectiones Damasianae will offer a space for reflection and in-depth study of the Damasian pontificate on the occasion of the memorial of 11 December.
