Nono Convegno Internazionale

The International Association for the Study of Biblical Rhetoric and Semitic proposes its Biennial Conference, to be held at the Pontifical Gregorian University (Central Palace: Room C 209) from September 26-28, 2024.

The main talks will be on the Bible: 9 talks on the New Testament and 2 on the Old. The other numerous talks will cover the Qur'an, as well as texts from the pre-Islamic and Persian periods, up to the Egyptian Pharaonic period. One talk will embrace the study of Kaddish composition in its different forms, one will deal with circular compositions and numerological principles in classical Chinese literature, and one, finally, will explore chapters 53 and 56 of the Rule of St. Benedict.

Opening and closing the Conference will be a magisterial lecture: Michel Cuypers who first used Semitic rhetorical analysis in the study of Qur'anic composition, and Roland Meynet with a memoir on the discovery of the methodology.

The speakers at the conference come from as many as 10 different countries: many are university professors, but this year some doctoral students and independent researchers are also participating with their proposals.

Registration will remain open until September 23, 2024.
