Ripensare la Restaurazione. Bilanci e prospettive del pontificato di Leone XII

On the bicentenary of the election (1823-2023)

September 28, 2023 marks the bicentenary of his election to the papal throne of Leo XII, born Annibale della Genga, pope from 1823 to 1829.
To prepare for this recurrence, in 2012, a research project was initiated, which thanks to the Legislative Assembly of Marche Region, which over the years has published eleven volumes on the various political, social and cultural aspects of His pontificate, involving more than 100 italian and foreign scholars.
Collecting the results of this over 10 years investigation, the conference “Ripensare la Restaurazione. Bilanci e prospettive del pontificato di Leone XII” aims to outline the paths of studies on Della Genga papacy, placing it in the broader context of the papal Restoration.
