SETTE RITRATTI INDIANI

Seven great figures from whom the author draws spiritual nourishment for his Christian life, and who are emblematic of the encounter between Christianity and India, are recounted in this volume. Beyond a fascinating cross-cultural exchange, the characters presented allow for an extraordinary and very timely meditation on the communion of saints, the boundaries of belief and the very roots of our humanity. Henri Le Saux occupies a special place, as do his disciples: Marc Chaduc and Sister Thérèse; Vandana Mataji, who continued Le Saux's inspiration in Rishikesh; Prasanna Devi, the hermit of Girnar; as well as the great figures of charity who descended into the depths of humanity: Mother Teresa and Pierre Ceyrac (from whom the author draws the missionary vocation). Seven human and Christian "destinies," some already well known and some not. A way to discover a continent, the Indian continent, that has much to say to our today, but also to recognize how much of Christianity runs through everyone's history and can be fruitful at every latitude
