Since 2017, the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Church has participated in the experimental project Art and Faith on the restoration, conservation and enhancement of works of art of religious interest, promoted by the Diocese of Locri-Gerace, in which teachers and students from our University and other Italian and foreign academic and scientific institutions participate, and which takes place within the Bishop's Citadel of Gerace.

The aim is to promote the knowledge, recovery, restoration, conservation and return, where possible, to their function, of historical-artistic artefacts of sacred and religious interest, identified as particularly in need of attention.

The annual internships proposed by the Art and Faith project are a useful tool for our students, offering the concrete possibility to take care of those cultural assets that we care most about, in a path that begins in the classrooms of the University and arrives at the monuments, the works and the laboratory.
