Typical and Special Processes: a Thorny Issue in regard to Causes of Canonization

Abstract - From the study of the legal nature of any process, it is possible to deduce the qualification as typical or special. In the first case, this will be configured as a genus from which other processes will be able to be drawn; in the second case, save for the particularities, as a species that from a genus draws its own supporting structure. This study aims to analyze, in brief, the canonization process, adapting the aforementioned concepts.

Depositions of the Parties in M.P. Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus

Abstract - On 15 August 2015 Pope Francis issued the Motu Proprio Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus (MIDI). In order to facilitate and speed up the marriage proceedings in the ecclesiastical courts, the Pope renewed the specific norms for the procedure for determining the nullity of a marriage. The other procedural norms of the CIC/1983 were neither suppressed nor altered. The author of this article explains what the norm of can. 1678 §1 is about and where the renewal and continuity with the previous norm (can. 1679) consists in with regard to the full evidential value of party statements in marriage annulment proceedings.
