Licentiate in Spiritual Theology

To obtain the academic degree in Spiritual Theology, the student must achieve 120 ECTS.

Half of the credits (60 ECTS) will be obtained by attending and passing the respective exams of the Courses and Seminars according to the following distribution:

– 18 courses (48 ECTS) structured as follows:

  • (1) Required Core Courses:
    • Introduction to Spiritual Theology (0 ECTS)
    • Synthesis Course (0 ECTS)
  • (2) Other Core Courses for a total of 39 credits:
    • Systematic Spiritual Theology (x3 = 9 ECTS)
    • Ignatian Spirituality (3 ECTS)
    • Biblical Spirituality (x3 = 9 ECTS)
    • History of Christian Spirituality (x3 = 9 ECTS)
    • Psychology and Pastoral Spirituality (x2 = 6 ECTS)
    • Spirituality of the States of Life (3 ECTS)
  • (3) A course chosen among the Interdepartmental Courses (“Comuni”) of the 2nd cycle in the Faculty of Theology (3 ECTS);
  • (4) Two courses chosen from the Elective Courses (“Opzionali”) of Spiritual Theology (2x3 ECTS);

–  Three seminars from the Spiritual Theology programme (12 ECTS).

The other half of the credits (60 ECTS) will be obtained with the submission of the Licentiate Thesis (30 ECTS), written under the direction of a professor of the Department, with the consent of the Director, and passing the Final Licentiate Exam (30 ECTS).
