Objectives: The course will provide the students with instructions on how to distinguish between safeguarding policies and guidelines, as well as help them to identify the possible stakeholders of Safeguarding policies instructions. It will also teach them how to make safeguarding policies more effective through a process of revision.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, students will be able to draft culturally-sensitive policies in line with previously drafted Safeguarding guidelines.

Content: Differences between guidelines and policies; relevant information for various target groups (such as staff, children, parents); accessible language; involvement of those affected, as well as communication and reinforcement of the content.

Methodology: The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion.

Means of evaluation: Evaluation will be based on class participation and a written paper.
