Objectives: The course will introduce the students an introduction to the concept of professional (and pastoral) supervision and its importance of it in institutions/organizations, in order to prevent possible abuses.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, the students will be able to understand the importance of self-care in safeguarding and to recognize the purpose of supervision and circumstances in which it is necessary.

Content: Importance of supervision and accompaniment; meaning of personal (and pastoral) assistance; its role in preventing compassion fatigue and attending to the spiritual dimension.

Methodology: The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion.

Means of evaluation: Evaluation will be based on class participation and written papers.
