Objectives: The course will teach students about existing healing and accompaniment processes used in some Safeguarding offices. It will make them collect useful elements for drafting culturally-sensitive and possibly effective healing measures.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, students will be able to assess existing accompaniment processes presented during the lectures, starting with the victim’s experience. They will be able to set up a holistic process which gives victims the opportunity to access the healing process on different levels. They will also be able to reflect on the main tasks of a safeguarding office.

Content: Trauma-informed stakeholders; cultural differences; effectiveness and limits of various treatments; spiritual and holistic pathways for healing; possibilities for victims to participate.

Methodology: The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion.

Means of evaluation: Evaluation will be based on class participation and a written paper.
